Significo, a health AI and digital therapeutics company, announced it closed a Series B funding round.
JStar Capital Investments Horizon Fund II led the round, which brings the company's valuation to $100 million.
WHAT IT DOES
Significo partners with large insurance companies in the U.S. and Germany to develop custom apps that help individuals manage their health.
The company developed a personalized health recommendation engine, Recco, that provides employees and benefits members with health and wellness information.
It also created a smoking cessation app, as well as personalized nutrition, exercise and meditation coaching apps for people with chronic illnesses.
In the future, Significo plans to launch a digital therapeutics platform for chronic conditions, which it claims can be used for any intervention.
The company will use the funds for product development, global expansion and acquisitions.
"With JSTAR Capital Investments' backing, Significo is not only poised to scale our own platforms but also to bring together best-in-class digital health innovations under one roof. Our goal is to simplify technology adoption for healthcare providers to drive meaningful health outcomes at the population scale," Rick McCartney, CEO of Significo, said in a statement.
MARKET SNAPSHOT
In July, Significo acquired Bunch, an AI leadership coach app, boosting its AI, coaching, data and psychology offerings.
Significo said the acquisition allowed it to help Bunch mitigate work-related stress and its adverse effects on mental health.
In 2024, Significo acquired software development firm Piobyte. The acquisition enabled Significo to offer more comprehensive services, products and solutions to German insurance companies, employee benefits providers, large employers, the pharmaceutical industry and consumers.
In 2023, Vilua Healthcare GmbH rebranded as Significo Health. The rebrand followed a strategic majority investment by Rick McCartney and Chris Koha and a successful $12 million Series A funding round.
