Tech-enabled health insurance company Oscar Health launched a suite of health plans and AI features.
The company's AI agent Oswell, helps with symptom management and medication refills while providing doctors with data aimed at improving healthcare.
Oswell taps into medical records, care guide chats and plan benefits to help patients review their symptoms, understand medications, explain common test results and check drug interactions.
It also writes up a list of questions to ask your doctor so you are fully informed on your care.
Oswell also knows all about a patient's plan and can tell them what is covered and how much things cost.
HelloMeno is a health plan aimed at women who have gone through perimenopause and menopause. It guides them with symptom treatment, prioritizing early intervention and proven treatments.
The company introduced a plan for members with diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease that offers low-cost medications, free health coaching wellness apps and medical devices.
"Oscar's lineup of new products bring surprising new experiences and rewards to help members manage their health and get the most out of their plan. Everyone should be able to buy health coverage on their terms. We call it health insurance for real life," Mark Bertolini, CEO of Oscar Health, said in a statement.
THE LARGER TREND
In August, Oscar Health and supermarket chain Hy-Vee, teamed up to introduce a health insurance plan aimed at saving employers money and giving employees concierge care at an affordable fixed price.
Employees who enrolled in the Hy-Vee Health with Oscar plan have access to a full suite of healthcare and shopping benefits, including unlimited access to primary care, 24/7 urgent care, labs, x-rays, select medications and affordable prescriptions available at Hy-Vee pharmacies.
In 2024, Oscar Health announced that it was entering the ACA marketplace in New Jersey beginning in 2025. The company introduced health insurance products, including services built around personal health needs and cultural preferences, and high-quality networks that align with people's schedules and neighborhoods.
